Rifle Silhouette
Offhand .22 Silhouette Rifle Matches will be held the 1st Sunday of each month at the Club Upper Rifle Range.Signup begins at 12:30 P.M. and ends at 2:00 P.M. Shooting starts at 1:00 P.M. Beginners and new shooters, ladies and children are welcome.
No special equipment is required. Any rifle shooting .22 short, long, or long rifle rimfire ammunition that does not damage the steel targets is permitted. Any type of sights are permitted. Telescopes nd electronic sights are permitted. NO .22 Magnums, centerfire .22 or .22 WRF permitted. Competitors may not use slings or shooting coats.
The course of fire is 40 shots fired offhand at steel animal cutouts: 10 shots at chickens at 40 yards, 10 shots at pigs at 60 yards, 10 shots at turkeys at 77 yards, 10 shots at rams at 100 yards. Competitors will shoot 5 shots in each relay, which lasts 2-1/2 minutes, with a 3 minute interval between relays where resetting targets is not necessary. Competitors will reset the targets they have shot
Proposed rules: Club Top Gun for 2005 will be the high aggregate shot in your best of 7 matches. Discard your worst matches, or if a competitor shoots fewer than 7 matches and has a higher aggregate than the high aggregate wil win.
Children too young to shoot offhand may shoot from the bench. Adults who cannot shoot offhand may shoot from the bench. Persons shooting from the bench may not win over persons shooting offhand
Shots knocking down targets not yet shot at because of a hit on the target frame will be reset and reshot. Targets are shot from left to right-one shot each. Targets shot out of order are misses. Targets that fall off or fall over count as hits. A target that falls over will only be counted if it is the target that was shot at.
Entry fee is $5.00. At your 1st match you shoot free.
The purpose of this match is to promote riflery by keeping it inexpensive and fun. This shooting experience is designed bo be inclusive of people wanting to practice safe firearms recreation.
