Thanks for visiting our website! Cherokee is a group of individuals interested in promoting, teaching, and enjoying the shooting sports. Our dedicated staff of volunteers have spent many hours in developing diversified programs that offer education, training, competition, fun and fellowship for our members and guests. We hope that you will become more involved in the family-oriented activities here at Cherokee; this is your Club and it will be what you make of it. In the past several years, our members have developed friendships, learned exciting new activities, and developed a sense of family through our Club. We hope that you too, will take a more active role in becoming part of the "Cherokee Family".

We have started a new program in which we can become a closer knit group of individuals that work toward the goals of protecting out shooting rights. This program serves two purposes: it allows the membership to earn service hours to help reduce your individual membership fees and it helps us form a bond of friendship and support. In this age of political turmoil pertaining to our shooting rights, it is essential that we form bonds that can help us win those battles. Beginning in March and finishing at October's end, we will meet at the Club on the 1st Friday at noon until dark and the 3rd Sunday of each month from 3PM until dark to do some general clean-up and fix-up and work on special projects. We will finish the day with food, beverages, and a social gathering a picnic (if you will) that allows us to gather together and have fun after a little work. This will help us accomplish needed tasks and make our Club even better many hands make light the work!

Two other points of interest: this is Cherokee's 50th Anniversary. Plans are being made to celebrate the work of the last 50 years and plan the future of the Club for the next 50 years. I will keep you updated as to what the events will be. In the interest of helping our members with any potential questions or problems they have, and to ensure that rules, regulations, and safe practices are being followed, a team of Range Officers will be making spot checks on the ranges to ensure that persons using our ranges are, in fact, current members; and they will help with any safety concerns or regulations questions you have. They have been authorized by the Board to help ensure we have a safe and clean place to shoot and will be making random visits to the ranges to assist you with any concerns.

I am very enthused about the officers and committee chairs that have all volunteered to help manage the activities of this Club. They are a great bunch of folks and are very willing to help promote the Club and support our programs. Please do not hesitate to contact a Committee Chair or me if you have any questions or concerns. We urge you to become more active in YOUR club; once you do, you will be surprised at what a wonderful time your family can experience here! Unlike many gun ranges, Cherokee is not just a place to shoot; it's a place that has a purpose. Together we can build an even better organization for the next generation to enjoy!

EVERYBODY is pro-gun, some just don't know it. When an anti-gun person is in trouble, the first thing they do is call 911 and demand that they send somebody with a gun!
